10 Ogden bars with kick-ass bar food!

Bars aren’t just for brews anymore, nowadays they serve up some seriously good eats and Ogden bars are no exception. These 10 local bars have fantastic grub to keep away the hangries while you enjoy your night, or afternoon, I am not here to judge. From gourmet to the classics, you can find it all in Ogden!

Listed below, in no particular order, are some of my favorite dishes that I have personally devoured but I want to hear from you! What are your favorite bar foods in Ogden?

1.The Sandtrap 2851 Washington Blvd

This dive bar used to be my go-to hangout spot every Wednesday for Karaoke with the infamous Jackson The Karaoke Dude (He’s now there on Mon/thurs/fri) and it’s during one of those fabulous musical nights that I discovered their delicious grub. I have stopped in on many an  afternoon for their kick-ass gyros and $5 steaks!

I first heard of this dive on Train City Eats and it’s been our favorite spot ever since. This family-friendly bar features dark wood paneling, vintage light fixtures, and the best damn gyro & souvlaki you will ever eat.

3.City Club 264 25th Street

This bar is famous for their Beatles memorabilia but  their real treasure is their wings. These bad boys are messy, gooey, sticky deliciousness that you won’t want to share. Be sure to wash it down with a Moscow Mule, City Club makes the best!

5. Funk n’ Dive Bar 2550 Washington

Funk n’ Dive Bar is a cool little secret gem hidden in a basement on Washington. Their menu is double sides- vegan on one side and meaty on the other with appetizers that include vegan chicken wings and tater tot nachos!

6.Slackwater Pub & Pizzeria 1895 Washington Blvd

with over 200 kinds of beers, why would you NOT want to stop in? Of course, there’s nothing better with beer than nachos and Slackwater’s chili verde nachos are the best around. You might need a friend or 2 to share this plate, they weigh as much as a newborn baby!

  3. I remember when I was little my mother, whom was raising me by herself at the time, worked at The City Club. Sometimes there was no other option except for me to go with her, as I’m sure single mothers know the struggle is real. I spent many an hour staring at the faces of the four, those musical legends whom I knew hardly a thing about that sang stories of the strangest things. As a kid my imagination swept me away to Lucy and her diamonds up in the sky, or down to the deepest depths where it didn’t matter what color your submarine was. All the while doing my best to covertly heist myself every maraschino cherry in the joint. It was a cheerful time in what could have otherwise been drop and dreary. A part of me will always be there, but that’s what makes these cracks in the wall special.
