Wednesday: Poker Faces, Opposite Day & Singy Songs!

I discovered something about myself last night. I am terrible at cards. My friend tried to teach me how to play gin & I am pretty sure he was trying to let me win & yet… I lost. HARD. And repeatedly. At least, now I know: Jenny = not a good card player. My poker face looks like this. Which, I guess is in & of itself a poker face… but… yeah… If you ever want an ego boost, just play cards with me.

We had our 2nd Indie Ogden Meet-up to discuss ideas, brainstorm goals & plans for the future & had such a great time! There are some creative minds joining our team lately & I know Mikki & I are terribly excited to see where things will lead. Are you interested in joining us? Check out our Join the Team! page for more details!

Wednesdays are always my favorite day of the week, because not only is it a half day at work (today I’m bringing my guitar!) but we will be having happy karaoke fun times tonight with our dear out of town friend & dressing cute & drinking dranks & sangin’ songs. Brilliant!  Not sure what I should sing tonight… Maybe some Ok Go? Or Queen? Or perhaps something new? Come to the Sand Trap tonight & find out!

Or….

There’s a lot else going on today too! Classes are starting at the Eccles Community Art Center with Deja Mitchell (my dear friend & dance teacher), to learn Tribal style drumming. Hit’em up for some enculturation!

Sundance is still going full tilt, there’s a screening of Two Days in New York, starring Chris Rock, at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. Click Here for ticketing information!

Now, I must be off. Time for work for the day! I can only hope that I do as good a job as this guy. He’s boss.

Here’s our CALENDAR!

Today is Opposite Day… So… Uhm… You suck. *wink*

Kthxbai!

About Jenny

Jenny Shaw is a die-hard Ogdeneer; local community supporter, little bit of a hippy, lover of music, anything British and sparkles. She can be found regularly at the Grounds for Coffee on 30th and Harrison, doing homework and drinking coffee or at the Sandtrap on any given Wednesday, singing her heart out at karaoke.

When she isn’t helping with Indie Ogden, she is volunteering all over town, when she's not at work with the Ogden-Weber Community Action Partnership (Head Start). Jenny also works with the Buy Local (Ogden) group and is passionate about promoting, connecting and uplifting local businesses to make a stronger, more unified community and economy.

If you ever want to catch Jenny, just track her down at MacCool’s for ½ priced appetizers, at any of the fabulous vintage stores scattered throughout Ogden playing dress-up with Mikaela, or with the rest of Indie Ogden wandering around our lovely town.
