Tuesday: I’m melting! Melting!!

Just call me Debby Downer- seriously, I’m whining when its too cold and just begging for summer- but when its too hot I am whining about being too hot. No, I’m never satisfied. My kids on the other hand?! WHOA. Its probably 50% leftover sugar high from Easter candy and 50% the weather, but we have some seriously excited ankle biters around here. Solution = get them out of the house!! Luckily we have all kinds of guides ’round these parts to direct one where to go. First off, a guide to local parks - giving you the lowdown on some new outdoor spots to enjoy with your kids; next we have the Ogden outdoor adventure Guide which is seriously jam-packed with all the info you need to start recreating in Ogden. Don’t forget to check out the Outdoor section as well, we have some hikes up there “reviewed” by me; and more to come – so you can get an idea of what to expect before you set out. Last- I must advise all parents to bring your children to the Ogden Nature Center; you can spend as little as an hour there, or as much as a whole day. There is something around every corner to entertain your little ones of all ages- and they offer summer camps as well.

We spent Monday lounging at a local park having lunch with some friends and enjoying the sunshine before I returned to my sewing table to finish up a few pieces for the Tears Foundation fundraisers. We are getting really stocked up for this rummage sale - you will be stunned by the selection of cool stuff to choose from! Last but not least I took my pup over to the Ogden Dog Park for a bit of exploring. Sadly the agility area is absolutely full of goat heads which are quite painful for the dogs to step on (and for us as well, I got one in my foot – OUCH!), but a great group of citizens of the Ogden area have assembled and are working to improve it. In the meantime we are enjoying the sections we can, as we can! If you would like to get involved or have a dog and simply want to connect with other dog lovers check it out! The group is private but feel free to join just to chit chat and share photos of your cute doggies!
