This place is hopping! If you’re new to the area, or if you’ve been here forever-and-a-day (like moi), hopefully by now you’ll have noticed October & Autumn in general is a busy time for Ogden. There’s live music absolutely everywhere, harvest festivals & spook alleys all over town. It is, personally, the best time of year to be in Ogden. The colors changing on the mountainside is echoed by the changing colors in downtown… the sun going down earlier only makes the lights of the city sparkle more brightly. All the hints of the winter to come drifts in on the breeze & thoughts of the holidays fill people with glee. Well… If you’re me, anyways.
I wore a sweater all day yesterday. ALL DAY. It was glorious. My hands were cold. I wanted my gloves. Sadly, I was not prepared for needing them just yet & left them at home. But! I know I should probably put them back in my car, just in case! This means…frosty noses & hot cocoa & wandering through the Christmas Village is just around the corner.
But not so fast! We haven’t even enjoyed my favorite holiday yet. Have you decided what you’re gonna do for Halloween? I have. I am quadruple booked the weekend before & will be hitting up the Sand Trap’s Halloween Karaoke Spectacular on the 31st.
This weekend, there is a ton of awesome things going on. Did you remember to turn in your voter registration form? I cut it close… exactly 2 weeks from voting day. Whoops! Hope you weren’t like me! This has certainly been an interesting race (I’m trying to be nice). Hope you’re making sure you’re well informed about the issues & the facts. I found a great resource in www.factcheck.org, I know I’ll be relying on it a lot for double checking all the spins.
Our friends over at Train City Eats just released their most recent food adventure! Check it out! I like food. Food is good.
Speaking of voting… We are currently in the midst of tallying all of the nominations for the Best of Ogden Awards! So excited! We really had an awful lot of nominations (about 500 submissions to be exact), we are really looking forward to the voting.
And now I am off! Peace, Love & Local O-Town!
