Did you have a good Halloween? Hope so! I know I did. Shenanigans until the wee hours of the night, adventures that would make you blush, cringe & squeal with joy or all three at the same time! Me & my lovely friends invaded the Sand Trap for their Halloween party where – squee! – I won first prize in the costume contest!!
Yesterday was awesome as well! We recorded our radio bit for Weber State’s 88.1 fm! It is ALWAYS a blast. Have you heard it? Well, if you’ve not, you can listen >>HERE!<<
I also got to attend a new, fandangled open mic at the Copper Club being put on by my friend, Brett Turner. Brett has teamed up with his friend, Matt Peterson, to bring us “Creative Unplugged” at the Copper Club. It looks like it will be absolutely brilliant! For more information, check out their Facebook page >>here<< & stay tuned for more information as I pick their brains…. I mean… write a spotlight! Halloween is over. *wink*
We launched our Best of Ogden Awards site yesterday as well!! Have you looked at it? It is chock full of our nominees, event info & mini-spotlights galore! Click >>HERE<< for more information!
Tonight is the First Friday Art Stroll, so…not that you need more options of things to do in this great town, but seriously, there are a lot of options. Free films at the Art House 502 Cinema, gallery shows & more. I will be attending on of the “more” category events as the Good Company Theater hosts their open house! You have no idea how excited I am for this! Alicia Washington (famed for her absolutely delightful coffee creations at Kaffe Mercantile & amazing hair) is following her legend & fulfilling a dream by opening a li’l theater, right on 25th Street. Expect many, many more conversations with us about HER, I can tell you what.
After that? I will be doing my usual end-of-the-week therapy at Hilarity House Productions with some ever so delightful improv. I cannot wait to laugh until I cry…then maybe laugh a li’l bit more. Can you get a hernia from laughter…? I bet you can…. It’s worth it.
And now, folks, I am off! Have a lovely weekend!
<3 – Jenny
But, before YOU go, watch Train City Eats new spotlight! These guys know how to make people hungry…

Catholic Community Services’ Holiday Food Drive – Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank – 2504 F Ave., Ogden – For the last two years Catholic Community Services (CCS) has had an increase in food bank clientele and an increase in holiday food clients. To meet the growing needs, we need more food donations throughout the holiday months. Help us from October 22nd through December 15th by collecting and donating Holiday Food items, including turkeys, hams (of all sizes), canned yams & pumpkin, cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, and canned vegetables. Food may be donated at the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank, located at 2504 F Avenue in Ogden, Monday-Friday 8AM to 3PM; or to United Way of Northern Utah, who is partnering with CCS to ensure every family receives the food they need this holiday season. The Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank is the largest food bank in Northern Utah and is the area’s major food distributor during the holiday season. For people in the Ogden area, donating holiday food to CCS will ensure that food is given to households in the most need. CCS distributes food during both holidays in addition to our daily food pantries. Please join CCS and United Way of Northern Utah in preventing anyone from going hungry this holiday.
