Indie Ogden Music Review: little Barefoot

When I was asked by little Barefoot to review their new CD (They’re having a show & release party at Mojo’s on Saturday! Be there or be square!), I was excited to hear some more of Ogden’s local talent. I was not expecting what I heard. As soon as the first track, Wake Me, started playing, I was hooked. With a sound like combining Noah & The Whale with Coldplay, these Logan locals are going places. Check out their website at http://littlebarefoot.bandcamp.com

I can’t decide what my favorite track is on this 6 track release, they are all so good. But, I do find myself listening to Architect (Track 3) an awful lot, with its perky beat & unique sounds, it is a sweet, happy song that is most assuredly going into a mix CD in the near future. I’m also pretty much addicted to Lovbster (Track 5). The line of  ”friends” just gets me every time.

Mainly consisting of three members - Taylor Ross Wilson, Alex Van Oene & Natalie Beck – with some help here & there from friends, they have been performing together as Little Barefoot for about a year. They hail from all over the Wasatch front: Roy, Logan & Kaysville. Alex & Taylor have been making music together for the last three years, building a sound that is very good to hear.

No strangers to the Ogden area, little Barefoot greatly enjoys the fun to be had up Ogden Canyon, sometimes tapping into their inner child to play at the Dinosaur Park.

Give their tunes a listen, decide for yourself & hey! If you like what you hear, maybe I’ll see you at the CD Release Show!
