Yeah, that happened to me today and after sobbing  into my coffee for a good hour,  I sucked it up and wrote it again.  I wish I could remember all the little quips and details I wrote the first time around, sigh… Still, I hope you enjoy my shortened recap of that fabulous night.**

Earlier this week Historic 25th street was crawling with bloggers as we gathered downtown for our bloggers night out.  We all met up at Scruds gourmet Grub where they served up some of their favorite appetizers. The table was piled high with jalapeno poppers, chicken tenders,  pickle fries, chicken wings, mac n cheese bites, pretzel bites, cornbread bites and a  selection of house made dips and sauces.

I couldn’t control myself around all of those delicious fried foods so I took the opportunity to stuff myself silly and the other bloggers has the same idea. When we felt like we were too stuffed to eat a single more bite, Mr. Scrud  himself came out with more food. The staff was so excited to showcase their  yummy foods to the bloggers and we were more than excited to eat it, a match made in heaven. I am not sure how we managed to  waddle out of there but eventually we made it to Liquid Canvas.

Once all of the bloggers made their way inside the paint studio, we put on our green aprons and got down to business. The owners came out and explained how their studio works and all of the fun packages they have for parties and date nights.  They then went on to tell us that we were about to paint one of the more difficult projects they had…GULP.  Luckily the first step was the easiest and in no time at all we had our first layer done.

While we waited for the base layer to dry they took the bloggers on a tour around their back patio and  we were told stories of paranormal activity that has happened in the building.  After they had thoroughly spooked us all they led us into the dark basement where they had set up a haunted maze.  After several twists and turns and lots of screaming we arrived to a (thankfully) well-lit room where they host their haunted paint nights.  Throughout October you can stop in for the special haunted paint nights where you will be led through the same maze only it will be filled with zombies and ghouls galore.

After the tour they led us back to the studio where we were served Shirley Temples (During regular paint parties you can replace that with wine!) for the rest of our painting session.  Step by step we all finished our works of art and to our surprise, they were all fabulous!  It was so much fun to see our blank canvases become something beautiful and even more so to see how every blogger created something a bit different.

It was such a fun night filled with great food and great people. Thank you to Staci of The Potters Place for organizing this event and a big thank you to Scruds Gourmet Grub and Liquid Canvas for hosting us!  Be sure to check out both local businesses to see all the great things they have to offer!
