Seussical The Musical @ Terrace Plaza Playhouse

August 7 – September 19 2015

“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’s best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper!

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge–not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Seussical is fun for the whole family!

Blues, Brews & BBQ - Keeping it REAL Fest @ Snowbasin Resort

Join us on the lawn at Earl’s Lodge on Sunday, September 6 for our Blues, Brews & BBQ FREE Concert Series – Keeping it REAL Fest with Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Dead Winter Carpenters, The Weekenders, & Bird in the Trees!

Bring the family to Snowbasin Resort for award winning BBQ, family friendly activities, and free live music for all ages! Every Sunday through the summer 12:30 – 5:30pm. Only at Snowbasin Resort.

About the artists:

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real are an American rock n’ roll group based out of California. Lukas first picked up the guitar at age 11 to honor a promise he made to his father (Willie Nelson) and was able to teach himself the craft by playing along to classic Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix songs. Now at age 24, Lukas is building his following the old fashioned way by touring year round and delivering high energy performances to fans across the country. Lukas Nelson and P.O.T.R. have performed over 400 shows in the past 3 years and have played with the likes of Neil Young, John Fogerty, Bob Weir, B.B. King, and Bob Dylan.

Dead Winter Carpenters – In a time when music has been transformed and genre lines are left behind like the seasons, Dead Winter Carpenters are producing an ever-evolving style of music. The time spent, both in the studio in the woods and criss-crossing the American countryside, has provided Dead Winter Carpenters with a ground-breaking sound that blends Americana roots-rock with a tinge of straightforward ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ Alt. Country that is as hard-hitting as it is whimsical. While the roadsigns and towns pass by the windows on down the highway of tour, DWC are writing original material based on their life experiences. “Dirt Nap”, the band’s latest EP, is a musical journey which speaks magnitudes to these experiences.

The uplifting “Bootleg Jack” melds together banjo, handclaps, harmonica and fiddle into a musical amassment of down-home experiences of whiskey riddled fun. The stormy, somber, and longing tone of “West Shore Town” speaks to the darker side of existence. Conversely, the upbeat rambling sounds of the the telecaster and the lyrics of “Triumph” speak of man living with hard times who sees the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. One can’t help but feel the change of the alchemy brewing within Dead Winter Carpenters.

Foot-stomping original tunes blended with the band’s onstage presence highlighted by the vocal melodies and five part harmonies, ferocious fluidity of the fiddle, deep pounding thump and thud of the upright bass, country ramblings of the telecaster and acoustic guitars, and the driving drums all meld together to create an experience that is sure leave you wanting more…

The Weekenders are a raw rock n’ roll band. Boasting a sound hearkening back to the days when Rock N’ Roll legends reigned supreme over the radio waves, Salt Lake City-based The Weekenders aren’t in the business of treading lightly. The fuzz groove four piece has honed the ability to pull from some of the best elements of Rock n Roll from Muscle Shoals to Grunge. They have supported a handful of national acts including Blitzen Trapper, Band of Heathens, The Stone Foxes, Lukas Nelson and many others.

Bird in the Trees is a country/folk/Americana band from Salt Lake City, Utah
