Good Company Theatre presents ODETTES for the holidays!

Good Company Theatre has a great holiday gift for you. Let them take you home for the holidays – to a place you’ve never been. It is December 1974. Sit in at the local club for a reunion of The Odettes, a famous 60s “girls group”. They’ve gone their separate ways for more than 10 years and one is replaced by her daughter, who organizes the reunion as a tribute to her mother, now passed on. This is a perfect set up for...

How I Bought A House In Ogden Without a Big Downpayment

I never thought I would be a homeowner. I grew up poor, the poorest part of the poor spectrum. As a teenager, I was homeless off and on until I was 19 when I got my first apartment. To me, it was a mansion, the second floor of a row house in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood. Guys and Dolls is a swinging good time!

Intro to Glassblowing at Artisan Collective

This post is a long time coming. I took this insanely incredible class a few weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it…or looking up torches on Amazon. Artisan Collective is a cool studio packed full of locally made goods and a calendar full of amazing classes where you can brush up on your pottery, painting, silversmithing and yes, glassblowing skills. My teacher, Mike Hurst, was as hilarious as he was...

Silversmithing with Artisan Collective

I love to craft. There I said it. I am a craftaholic, and I will scream it from the rooftops. Crochet, pottery, hell, even scrapbooking now and then when the urge hits. When I found out the Artisan Collective hosts the coolest craft classes around I had to jump in. The first one I took was the copper cuff class followed by a copper enameling class (which you can read about HERE), and our girl Candice took a watercolor class with her...

Indie Ogden Review: Peter and The Starcatcher

Want to take your kids to something fun, whimsical and absolutely hilarious? Peter and The Starcatcher, playing at Ziegfeld Theater, is all of that and more. Ziegfeld Theater keeps pumping out hits, from the cast to the set design, and Peter and The Starcatcher is no exception.  Trent Cox as black stash was hilarious and on point even as he rolled with the punches when things didn’t go quite as planned on stage.  Andrew Cole had...
