Regular exhibit postponed to June 12th for Art FestGuest “artists” for the Utah Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on June 6, will be the Back County Horsemen of Utah, Wasatch Front Chapter. They are a nation wide service organization of men and women concerned about sustained equestrian access to, and proper use of our public lands. They work with federal, state and local government, and other volunteer organizations, to improve and maintain trails in the back country. Above, you see a member who has packed a horse with poles to be used in the erection of a sign on Ben Lomond Peak. While their demonstration isn’t technically an art form, it certainly is an art to be able to pack a horse correctly in planning for an extended trail ride. The Horsemen will have a life-size model of a horse at the event on June 6, that they will use in instructing you how to load your animal. It should be an interesting, educational experience for all of us.
