Holi Festival of Colors in Ogden

With colorful chalk in your hand and live music, it’s nearly impossible not to smile. Ogdenites gathered at Lorrin Farr Park to celebrate spring, even if it didn’t feel that way. The gray clouds helped the colors look even more vibrant!

On stage the musicians were praising Ogden for our soul and energy. Besides the music, there were yoga sessions and local food trucks to enjoy.

Those who had not been to a color festival before were surprised of how it works – people throw handfuls of chalk at you purposefully to cover your white clothes! And some were a little shy to do that to others at first, but after a couple splatters of color everyone loves the feeling of throwing it around.

The best part in my opinion, are the “color throws” that happened every hour – where everyone releases their chalk into the air simultaneously. With peace signs in the air along with the colors, it was definitely a joyful time.
