Indie Ogden Review: Breathe in Peace Massage

After being pregnant for 9 months and then having my daughter my back was beginning to ache constantly. While I was pregnant my back pains began when my daughter decided to set up camp on my sciatic nerve sending shooting pains up and down my left side. I tried all forms of relief from hot herbal baths to yoga but nothing would move the baby and it wasn’t until I delivered did I feel the pressure lifted and get a bit of relief. The relief did not last long as I started hunching over while nursing the babe and carrying her around in the sling and Ergo. Thankfully,  a friend introduced me to Kami and after one session my pain was just a memory.

Kami’s massage studio is on the 2nd story of Blooming Lotus on 25th street sharing a space with the dance studio. The space is surrounded  by tall handmade curtains and feels a bit like a club house you probably made as a kid only much more sophisticated and with really comfy furniture.  The massage table blanket it soft and the mattress squishes around you and as I laid my head down I thought ‘this is probably what laying in the clouds would feel like’.

Kami put on soft music that I really enjoyed, no sounds of waves crashing or birds chirping just soft beautiful folk music, music that actually calms me. Before she began the massage she asked what  areas I needed work on, what kind of pressure I liked and what my favorite scent was. Lavender was my scent of choice and as she asked me to  take a few deep breaths I inhaled the calming flowers and sunk deeper into the massage table.

My massage was incredibly relaxing and she really worked into my problem areas and  I could feel the knots being kneaded out of my muscles. She let me know everything she was doing along the way and explained problem areas that she found and how she was going to work on them. After my massage I felt like jelly and had a sense of calm I haven’t felt in ages, It was an incredible experience and much-needed.  Before I left Kami told me how I could work out the knots at home and the areas I should work on so the pressure doesn’t build up.

Breathe in Peace Massage is a really beautiful place and in such an easy to access part of town and lucky you, Kami would like to offer any Indie Ogden reader who mentions this review $10 off their next massage. Prices are very affordable and in my opinion worth the price and then some, check out her studio today and try a massage for yourself, you deserve it!
