Indie Ogden Spotlight: SheShreds Ambassadors Empowering Women in Sports

If you haven’t heard of Sheshreds you may want to brace yourselves, because this local organization is going to knock your sock off. SheShreds is an action company for women, inspiring and empowering women to participate in outdoor adventure. Their ambassadors are lighting the way for young girls and giving a voice to women in sports. I did a little Q&A with Tony Duffy, one of the founders, so you can learn more about how to get involved.

1-First off, for everyone who has never heard about SheShreds, what is your company all about?

We are a source of inspiration and supplies for female action/adventure sports athletes.  At our core, we are an apparel and lifestyle brand focused on female athletes in a variety of action and outdoor sports, but we offer so much more than that.  We have a global community that connects female athletes to others passionate about their sports, as well as an event series that gives opportunities for female athletes to compete, learn new sports, and make friends.  We also work as mentors and advocates for female athletes, helping them grow their careers, meet their goals, and get the recognition they deserve.

2- How does an athlete become an ambassador?

You can apply for any of our programs at SheShreds.co/join.

We’re super excited to be announcing a new program in December to expand upon our community programs.  Now girls can either join our Ambassador Program or a new program called the SheShreds.co Nation.  The Ambassador program is geared towards girls who are heavily involved in their sports, usually either through competing, or pursuing industry careers. The SheShreds Nation is focused toward a broad community; any female athlete who enjoys an action and adventure sports at any level is welcome to join!  We’re pretty stoked to see where this addition takes us!  This fills a gap for us with women and girls who aren’t at the level of participation to become an ambassador, but would still get a lot out of our community; out of connecting with others like them, making friends, and finding inspiration!

3- What do ambassadors do?

Our ambassadors each represent our brand in a unique way that suits their individual talents, lifestyle and goals.  If you look at our website and our social media, you will see images, art, and words of our incredible ambassador community as a common thread throughout everything we do. Some of them are very active on social media and post great photography and video of their adventures, while others are strong competitors and can be found dominating the podiums and local and national level events. Some of the girls have talents outside their sports; in writing, design, photography, or video editing and work on special projects in these areas, while others are leaders in their local sports communities, and host meetups and events to encourage other girls to get involved in action sports.  We even have a collection of apparel that is designed by our ambassadors!

4-What is the future of She Shreds?

We plan to grow, expand, and really make a difference for girls in the action sports community!  We are so stoked for what’s to come – one of our long time dreams has been to bring SheShreds apparel into brick and mortar retail, and this dream is coming true this month.   As of early December, a small exclusive line will be sold at select Zumiez stores across the country including the local Ogden store at the Newgate Mall, as well as stores across Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and even Minnesota.   At the same time, we’re expecting our new SheShreds Nation program to grow our community core exponentially, creating a place for all different levels of shredders to make friends, connect and thrive.

5-What are some ways the community can get involved?

The best way to get involved is to join our Ambassador Program or the SheShreds Nation!  This gives you access to all of our amazing community, events, special perks, and everything else that goes along with being a member.  If you’re not ready to make that leap yet, keep an eye on our Facebook Page for upcoming events.  This winter, we’re launching a brand new Saturday event series at Powder Mountain, the SheShreds Jamboree.  This will feature an all ages/all abilities competition, as well as clinics, raffles, and tons of fun.  Come by February 3 and March 3 to compete, spectate or join the clinics.  And of course, a portion of every purchase through SheShreds.co or now Zumiez goes towards supporting our mission of making a difference in the lives of women and girls.

So there you have it, Ogden! Head on over to https://sheshreds.co/  and get to shredding!
