Princess Bride 7pm

“Inconceivable!”
A lowly stable boy, Westley (Cary Elwes), pledges his love to the beautiful Buttercup (Robin Wright), only to be abducted and reportedly killed by pirates while Buttercup is betrothed to the evil Prince Humperdinck. Even as Buttercup herself is kidnapped by a giant, a scheming criminal mastermind, and a master Spanish swordsman, a mysterious masked pirate (could it be Westley?) follows in pursuit. As they sail toward the Cliffs of Insanity…

Confetti & Distress/ Honey & Suspicion  7pm (Ongoing)

The Mary Elizabeth Dee Shaw Gallery will host a solo exhibition of works by Sacramento artist, Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor, from September 11th – November 21st, 2015. O’Connor’s work is situated between the tender and grotesque; she re-purposes found objects, thrifted textiles, and detritus to build breathtaking anthropomorphic sculptures that at once entice and repulse, but undoubtedly resonate.

Please join us for an exciting opening reception with O’Connor on Friday, September 11th at 7pm in the Shaw Gallery. We promise…you won’t be disappointed!
*O’Connor will give a public artist lecture on Thursday, September 10th at 7pm in Room 120 of the Ethel Wattis Kimball Visual Arts Building
